Welcome to the Official Fan Club of the Hans Klufendorfen Polka Ensemble (HKPE)!If you've never heard Hans and the gang (or even worse, never heard of them), you're in for a real treat. As some of their most devoted fans, we've spent countless hours compiling press releases, liner notes, articles, bios, and just about everything else we could find on this groundbreaking Polka band for your browsing pleasure. As with any great musicians, the members of the Ensemble have walked complicated and intertwining paths through the music industry; HKPE fans and newcomers alike will also be able to learn about their various solo ventures and other bands, including information on musicians who were never in the Ensemble-proper, but still have played an important role in shaping the sound and experience that is the Hans Klufendorfen Polka Ensemble. We recommend you start with the bios of the ensemble's founding members, Hans Klufendorfen (accordion), Heinrich Laderhausen (drums), Adolf Guntherhaugerschnauzenn (tuba), and Gary Jones (vocals), and by reading the encyclical liner notes from the ensemble's 2001 retrospective boxed set, "Legends in Their Own Time". This will prepare you to dive head-long into the heavily-annotated news archive, which will fill you in on the doings, comings, and goings of Hans and his many musical compatriots since mid-2001.
